Suspected militants abduct DySP’s kin in south Kashmir’s Shopian

Srinagar: Suspected militants last night abducted a close relative of a Deputy Superintendent of Police DySp from his home in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

The incident took place at Thiarun village of Shopian.

The abducted has been identified as Adnan Ahmad Shah who is the nephew of the DySP, Mohammad Syed Shah. The DySP, Shah is posted at PHQ Srinagar.

Family sources of Adnan told Kashmir Reader that he was abducted by masked gunmen after they barged into his house last night.

Pertinently, suspected militants have abducted at least seven relatives of policemen after police arrested father of Hizb commander Riaz Naiko, two brothers and father of militant Lateef Tiger and forces allegedly set ablaze two militant houses yesterday.

Police sources said that a manhunt has been launched to free the abducted persons.
