SRINAGAR: A 2-day workshop on “Geometrical Interpretation of Mathematical Concepts” concluded at Kashmir University (KU) here on Wednesday.
The workshop was organized by the Department of Mathematics in collaboration with Kashmir Mathematical Society and Dass Scientific Research Laboratory Ahmedabad.
According to a statement issued here, the main objective of the workshop was to help the participants to model and visualize important mathematical concepts, so that they can correlate these into any other form and develop a quick understanding of a problem and instantly find a method for its solution logically.
Dean Research, Prof Zaffar Reshi on the valedictory function emphasized the importance of mathematics in all disciplines of life and encouraged the participants to look forward in making mathematics attractive among students.
The participants both faculty and research scholars from Central University of Kashmir, IUST, Awantipora, Govt Degree Colleges, University Departments, Govt Higher Secondary Schools participated in the valedictory function. Dr M A Khanday, organizing secretary of the workshop presented a report of the programme and elaborated the aims and objectives of the workshop.
The organisers appreciated the contribution of Prof Chanchal Dass, Managing Director, DSRL Ahmedabad for sharing his experience with the participants.
Prof M H Gulzar, Head Mathematics, Dr B. A. Zargar and Dr M. A. Mir were also present on the occasion.
