Anantnag: Suspected militants shot at and injured a 25-year-old man outside his house in Tral area of Pulwama district on Tuesday afternoon.
The injured man, Muhammad Amin Malik alias Zatak, son of late Ghulam Nabi, resident of Lurgam village in Tral, runs a drug store in his village.
The firing was reported from Lurgam village at about 3:30 in the afternoon.
A senior police official confirmed that Malik was shot at. “He was shot at outside his house in Lurgam. He was rushed to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) here,” the police official said, adding that the injured man has received the necessary medical attention.
A doctor posted at SDH Tral told Kashmir Reader that Malik had a superficial injury in his right thigh.
“The injury was probably from a pistol fire,” the doctor said. “His injury was attended to and he has been sent home,” the doctor said.
Following the firing, a government forces reached the village and searches were conducted in the area. The attackers had fled by then.
