SRINAGAR: Teachers working under centrally sponsored scheme Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) on Tuesday held a protest demonstration here in Srinagar demanding the implementation of benefits of 7th pay commission in their favour.
The teachers from various districts assembled here in press enclave under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar E Taleem Teachers Forum (JKRETTF) and raised the slogans against the state government for not giving them the benefits of 7th pay commission.
The protesters holding the placards and banners read, “delink SSA salary” and “Implement 7th pay commission “.
“The state government is depriving the benefits of the 7th pay commission for ReT Teachers. We are working on permanent posts in the education department. We have a proper service book and there are proper service rules for us,” the protesters said
Farooq Ahmad Tantray, Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar E Taleem Teachers Forum said that the state government is doing grave injustice with them.
“If the state government employees receive their monthly salaries with benefits of 7th pay commission, why the ReT Teachers are receiving their’ salaries as per 6th pay commission.
“We are nearly forty one thousand Rehbar e Taleem teachers under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and are facing lot of financial crisis due to the attitude of the state government,” Tantry said.
He also said that “our main demand is Implementation of 7th pay commission and delinking of SSA salaries from MHRD to State government budget.”
“On 5th September when all teachers will celebrate the teachers day in their schools. We will observe this day as a black day, when forty one thousand Rehbar e Taleem teachers will assemble here in partap park, that will be a big shame for the government”. Tantry Added.
