BUDGAM: As many as 960 Hajis returned in five flights on the first day of Hajj arrivals at the Srinagar airport on Tuesday.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan Deputy Commissioner Budgam Syed Sehrish Asgar and senior police officials received the Hajis who arrived in the first two flights that landed at 7 and 7.15 am.
An official spokesman said special arrangements ensuring hassle-free immigration clearance were put in place at the airport.
About 9800 pilgrims had performed the Hajj pilgrimage from Jammu and Kashmir this year.
The first batch of pilgrims from J&K departed on July 14 while the last flight on July 25 from Srinagar airport.
However, about half a dozen hajjis from J&K died during the pilgrimage due to health reasons or accident.
