Budgam: An unexploded shell was found in Shunglipora village of Tosamaidan area in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Sunday.
Sources said the shell was spotted by the locals who later informed the police.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Magam, Showkat Ahmad told Kashmir Reader said that police received information regarding the presence of an unexploded shell in a water stream in Shunglipora village.
“Acting promptly, a team of police visited the spot and diffused it without creating any harm,” he said.
Pertinently, over 30 deaths have been reported so far in Shunglipora village of Budgam while as same number of people had sustained injuries after the unexploded shells went off in the area which was used as firing range by army for decades together.
The shells usually come across with the water stream that originates from Tosamaidan, which was used by the Army.
In past also many shells were spotted by the locals in their close vicinity and some times in the lawns of their homes.
