South Kashmir: Ex-police officer’s son among 2 held in night raids in Pulwama

Pulwama: Two people, including son of a retired police officer were arrested by Special operations group (SOG) of police and army in nocturnal raids in Kareemabad area of this south Kashmir district.

SOG and army on Sunday night carried out raids in Kareemabad village here and arrested at least two people, one among them son of a former police officer, witnesses told Kashmir Reader.

24-year-ol Zubair-ul-Islam, a hotel management student was arrested second time in less than a month by forces, witnesses said. His father retired from the post of Sub-Inspector last year.

The second person arrested in the raid has been identified as Nazir Ahmad Bhat, son of late Abdul Aziz. He is a father of two.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Pulwama denied that nocturnal raids were carried out by cops. However, he said that a few people have been called for questioning.
