Body of minor recovered from Ganderbal power canal

Ganderbal: Body of a 14-year-old boy was fished out from the power canal on Monday in Prang area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district three days after he had drowned in the canal, sources said.

The body of Nadeem Bashir son of Bashir Ahmad Mir resident of Hayan Palpora was fished out from the power canal at Prang head today afternoon, an official said.

The body was retrieved after three days of hectic efforts by Police and locals. It was later shifted to truma Hospital Kangan for autopsy.

A police official told Kashmir Reader that Nadeem and his friends were on picnic when he fell into the canal on Friday last near environment park Kijpora.

The recovery of the body brought relief to the bereaved family and the villagers, the official said.
