Kupwara: Three Indian Army troops were injured in two different landmine blasts along the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday. One of the injured soldiers later died in hospital.
Sources said that the army’s 5/9 GR was on routine patrol duty at Gogal Dar area along the LoC in Keran sector when a landmine blast took place in the wee hours of Saturday. It resulted in injuries to two army soldiers who were shifted to hospital.
The sources said that one of the injured soldiers, Abishekh Chetri, sustained multiple injuries and was taken to army hospital Drugmulla Kupwara for treatment.
In another landmine blast that took place near Balbir Post along the LoC in Keran sector, Nihal Gurang of 5/9 GR suffered injuries and was taken to the local army hospital. He was shifted to army hospital Srinagar where he succumbed to his injuries in the afternoon.
