Srinagar: Employee’s Joint Action Committee (EJAC) Sunday held a protest demonstration here in Pratap Park against the attempts of tinkering with Article 35-A, which provides special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
EJAC is an amalgam of different unions of government employees of different departments of the state.
While chanting Pro-Kashmir and slogans in favour of Article 35-A, scores of government employees gathered here in State’s summer capital.
The protesting employees demanded the dismissal of the petition by the Supreme Court challenging Article 35-A.
The EJAC appealed all religious and non religious organizations to unite together to protect the state subject law.
They announced to cooperate with every religious and non religious organization in defending the state subject Law.
Protesters said that “cheap tactics of Indian Government against Jammu and Kashmir will never be tolerated”.
The protest was led by the EJAC President and Trade Union leader, Abdul Qayoom Wani.
