Srinagar: The Court of Second Additional Sessions Judge Srinagar framed charges against two alleged drug peddlers in a case registered at police station Shaheed Gunj Srinagar.
Police in their report alleged Irshad Ahmad Sheikh, hailing from Mehboob Colony, Nowgam and Gulzar Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Shopian were apprehended on March 21 near Jahangir Chowk, along with 510 gm of charas.
Subsequently, a case under Section 8/20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act was registered.
The counsel for the accused, Adil Abdullah, conceded the charge and aubmitted that accused may be charged under 20 b NDPS as the quantity allegedly recovered was “intermediate” after which the court charged both the accused under 20 b NDPS.
