Body of Langate man killed in Rafiabad gunfight likely to be exhumed

Srinagar: Authorities are likely to exhume the body of a militant killed during in an encounter with the forces in Rafiabad on August 9.

Source said that the preliminary investigations suggest that the body belongs to Langate family who has claimed the slain to be their son.

The sources said that the body will be exhumed after the district magistrate orders are received.

The five militants killed in the gunfight in forest area of Rafiabad were buried at Hamam. After the burial was over, government forces released pictures of the killed militants and a Langate family claimed one among them was their missing son, Muzaffar Ahmad Mir.

Mir, according to family, had left home on August 5. A formal missing report was filed by the family members in the concerned police station.
