Militant attack injures soldier in north Kashmir’s Handwara, CASO launched

Baramulla: Government forces have started a massive search operation in a forest area in the frontier Kupwara district after a soldier was injured in a militant attack on Wednesday night.

A group of militants attacked an army patrol of 47 RR in Wagbal forest area of Handwara during Wednesday night leaving a soldier injured, official sources told Kashmir Reader today. The injured soldier was removed to the hospital for treatment.

Soon after the attack, government forces ‘cordon off the area and launched a search operation to nab the militants, sources added.

The cordon and search operation (CASO) was underway when this report was filed.
