Srinagar: Octogenarian Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Geelani is not keeping well for the past few days, his son told Kashmir Reader.
Naseem Geelani said that earlier this week, his father complained of heaviness in the chest. He was taken to a private hospital for medical check-up. After several tests, the doctors recommended that Geelani be taken to SKIMS hospital at Soura.
“The test reports at the private hospital showed no signs of any medical problem. The doctors referred him to SKIMS for a pacemaker check up,” Naseem said.
At SKIMS, a team of doctors conducted a check-up of Geelani’s pacemaker and he was administered some medicines, Naseem said.
The Hurriyat chairman had also complained of severe stomach ache and was injected several medicines at SKIMS.
Naseem said that Geelani is showing signs of weakness and appears exhausted. “The continuous house detention has taken a severe toll on his health,” he said.
