Ganderbal: A court here Tuesday denied bail to a man accused of involvement in a bomb blast in Manasbal tourist resort in June on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The Principal District and Sessions Judge Ganderbal rejected the bail application of one Bilal Ahmad Mir of Kondbal Manasbal, booked in the case under section 307, 201 RPC 3, 4 explosive substance Act 16, 18, 20 ULAP Act.
Observing that the blast has occurred in a public park visited by many tourists, more so when people were celebrating Eid, the court took into account the ‘confession’ and recovery of explosive material.
The blast left several people injured, all locals, with one of the injured losing eyesight.
Rejecting the bail, the court said the offences committed are serious, henious, non-bailable carrying highest degree of punishment and are also against public at large.
Two other accused in the case, hailing from the same locality of Kondbal Manasbal, have been put up in Kotbalwal Jail in Jammu under public safety act while Bilal is lodged in central Jail Srinagar.
