Teenage boy goes missing in Pattan, family worried

Baramulla: A teenage student has gone missing from Pattan area of this north Kashmir district sparking fears of his security among his parents.

16-year-old Faisal Rashid of Karhama village of Tangmarg went missing on August 17 from his maternal home in Burran village of Pattan here, his family told Kashmir Reader on Tuesday.

“Faisal left from his maternal home around 8 am on Friday last to return home. However, he didn’t turn up,” his visibly disturbed father Rashid Ahmad Dar told Kashmir Reader.

Faisal, a 10th standard student of government high school, Aripanthan, according to his father had to go to Sonmarg on Saturday for school picnic.

“Even his teachers called me up to ask why Faisal didn’t attend picnic. I have no idea where he’s gone. I am very worried about his safety,” Dar said.

The family, he said have lodged separate missing reports at police stations Tangmarg and Pattan.

“Five days have passed but we have no clue about his whereabouts. Although, a witness told us that our boy was roaming in Tangmarg, but we aren’t sure,” he said.
