Baramulla: Indian and Pakistani troops on Monday exchanged heavy gunfire across the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri. Official sources said that Pakistani forces continued to violate the ceasefire and targeted several Indian army posts in Kamalkote sector in Uri, to which the Indian army retaliated.
No loss of life or injury has been reported in the exchange of gunfire. Official sources said that the Pakistani army also fired mortar shells towards this side of the LoC but no one was hurt by it.
Two days ago, the washroom of a local resident was damaged when hit by a mortar shell in Thajal village of Uri along the LoC.
On Sunday, the Indian army had claimed to have killed a non-local militant in Lachipora sector along the LoC who was part of a group of militants trying to sneak into this side of Kashmir.
