Infiltration bid foiled in Uri, 1 militant killed: Army

Baramulla: Army on Sunday claimed that they foiled an infiltration bid in Uri village of Baramulla and killed a militant.
Sources said that a group of militants tried to sneak into this side of Kashmir in wee hours of Sunday near Kasturi Naar post in Lachipora village resulting in a brief encounter in which a militant was killed while the search for others was going on.
Srinagar based spokesperson of Indian army Col Rajash Kalia confirmed that the killing of a militant.
The area is very far from civilian habitation and army is the only source of information, so that this reporter could not confirm about the incident from independent sources.
On Saturday evening police said that three militants were killed in Tangdar village along the Line of Control in neighbouring Kupwara when a group of militants were trying to enter into Kashmir.
