Ganderbal: Police has arrested one person and claimed to have recovered banned huge quantity of wild medicinal plants (forest produce) from his possession.
A police statement said that on specific information, the house of one Zahoor Ahmad Shah son at Baba Wayil Gutlibagh was searched, during which huge quantity of forest produce was recovered and the accused arrested.
Police said the forest produce seized from the house include, Podophyllum sps (bankakri) – 181 kg, Picrorhiza sps (koad) – 2.3 kg, Trillium sps (tripatri)- 300 gms, Allium sps (shuttkaar) – 09 kg, Sassauria sps (kuth) – 19kgs, Sauromatum sps – 10.7 kg, and a weighing machine.
A case under section 379 RPC, 06 Forest Act has been registered in Police Station Ganderbal.
