‘Illegal dental clinics to be sealed in JK’

Srinagar: J&K State Dental Council (JKSDC) on Saturday said the rampant spread of illegal dental clinics and dental quackery needs to be put to an end as it has ruined the quality of oral health care services in the state.
According to a statement issued here, Dr Romesh Singh, president J&K State Dental Council (JKSDC) said its members have drafted a committed action plan to register all private dental clinics running across J&K, and all illegal dental clinics or dental shops will be sealed.
Dr Bhupinder Singh, in charge inspections said that task forces have been constituted which shall visit all districts of the state to check the legitimacy of dental clinics. “A sealing drive was initiated in Jammu and various illegal clinics were sealed,” he said.
Dr Adil Malik, executive member of JKSDC said all the dental surgeons and consultants who are running clinics in private to get their clinics registered can approach any of the JKSDC office, Srinagar/Jammu. He further said that the online system of registration will be in place soon.
