Budgam boy’s body retrieved from River Jhelum in Srinagar

Srinagar: The body of Budgam boy who was drowned in River Jhelum was Saturday retrieved by River Police, (Jhelum Peerzoo) official sources said.

Director SDRF, Amir Ali confirmed Kashmir Reader that the body of the youth was fished out two days after he was drowned on Thursday.

Shabir Ahmad Sheikh son of Abdul Rahman Sheikh, a resident of Sitaharan Khag area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district was drowned in River Jhelum in Nawakadal area of Srinagar, sources said.

According to the family sources of the deceased, the boy was nearly twenty years of age and was staying in Srinagar.

“He was working as a labourer there,” they said.

Meanwhile, River Police sources told Kashmir Reader that they rescued Mohammad Sideeq Zargar son of Abdul Rashid Zargar, a resident of Chattabal, Srinagar from Amira Kadal area after he had somehow fallen in the river.
