Srinagar: Gunfight between militants and government forces broke out in Hajin town of North Kashmir’s Bandipora District Friday morning.
The gunfight according to local sources broke out after forces launched Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) and started house to house searches.
An Official told Kashmir Reader said that personnel of 13RR, SOG and CRPF cordoned of Mir Mohalla locality of the town after input about the presence of militants.
As the searches were being conducted, hiding militants opened fire on forces triggering a gunfight, he said.
Local sources said that soon after the gunfight, youth assembled around the gunfight site and started pelting stones on forces triggering clashes.
