Sopore: Government forces on Thursday launched a cordon and search operation(CASO) in Tujjar area of north Kashmir’s Sopore police district, reportedly. The Army’s 22 RR and Special Operation Group of Police (SOG) laid siege to Tujjer village Thursday afternoon following inputs of militants presence in the area
SSP Sopore Javaid Iqbal confirmed that CASO was launched in the area without further divulging any details.
As soon as the CASO was launched in the village, clashes erupted in which youths tried to resist the forces operation. However forces resorted to tear gas shelling to disrupt the stone throwing youths.
The clashes in the area went on till the CASO was lifted. However, there were no reports of any injury to any person and the CASO ended without tracing any militants.
