Vajpayee’s death; JK Govt announces seven-day mourning, holiday tomorrow

Srinagar: To mourn the death of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Prime Minister of India who passed away at AIIMS Hospital New Delhi on Thursday, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir announced that all Offices/Boards/Corporations and Educational Institutions shall remain closed tomorrow in the memory of departed soul.

As per a government order, there will be State mourning for seven days from 16 to 22 August 2018 (both days inclusive); the National and State Flags shall fly at half mast during the state mourning on all buildings and places where these are flown regularly; there shall be no official entertainment during the period of State mourning; and besides State Government Offices/Boards/Corporations and Educational Institutions shall remain closed on 17th August, 2018 in the memory of departed soul.
