SRINAGAR: J&K Bank Football team was held to a goalless draw J&K Bank Football Academy in the Premier Division football league tournament match played at TRC ground here on Sunday.
Both the teams gave exhibition of aggressive game coupled with solid defence. The stipulated 90 minutes had nothing to choose between the two sides with a score-line of 0-0
For the majority of 90 minutes of play, both teams had pressed attacking button to make continuous advances on each others’ goal post.
The teams went into the break with a stalemate. Second half didn’t see teams slacken their aggressive instincts, but didn’t have goals to show the quality of the game. Both teams showed strong defence to thwart any chances of status quo being disturbed.
Banks senior team got an golden opportunity to score when referee awarded them a penalty in 60th minute of the game but Bank Academy’s Goal keeper Klaus Hussain raise to the occasion and saved the penalty.
Young lads from the academy got all the praise from the spectators and were given standing ovation at the end of the game which ended in a draw.
And, it stayed that way when the final whistle blew. This is for the second time in this season that the young lads of the banks academy holds there seniors.
