Pulwama: Posters of Hizbul-Mujahideen outfit have surfaced in this south Kashmir district asking special police officers (SPOs) to quit their jobs and warning drug peddlers to shun their activities or face consequences.

The posters that have surfaced in main town  and adjoining areas not only warn SPOs but also drug peddlers and the people who intend to attend August 15 celebrations in the district, eyewitnesses told Kashmir Reader.

“Those SPOs, who have bargained their conscience with Indian agencies for some money, must leave their jobs and live a dignified life. Otherwise, you know what your fate will be,” the posters warns.

“The growing waywardness is a cause of concern. Liquor is being made easily available to destroy our younger generation. This is a well planned conspiracy,” the poster purportedly issued by the outfit’s district commander reads.

A senior police officer confirmed posters have been spotted around Martyrs graveyard in the district. However, he said, it was not a major cause of concern for the security agencies.
