Budgam: Jammu and Kashmir Bukhari Memorial Trust on Sundayobserved the 24th annual Urs of Syed Mohammad Anwar Bukhari here in Soibug area of this central Kashmir district.
Syed Mohammad Anwar Bukhari passed away on August 12, 1994, and since then the Urs is observed every year on the same date. The Trust is now run by Late Bukhari’s son Syed Gulzar Ahmad Bukhari.
Among the Molvis and Hufaaz-e-Qur’an who spoke on the occasion included Molvi Bashir Ahmad, Molvi Irshad Ahmad, Hafiz Muneer Ahmad and Syeed Mushtaq Ahmad Bukhari.
“The Urs is not just aimed at remembering the Late Syed Mohammad Anwar Bukhari sahib, but to make self introspection and live the life like the Bukhari sahib lived. This Trust will always remember the person who has given it the name,” the Trust chairman Syed Gulzar Ahmad Bukhari told Kashmir Reader.
The Bukhari Memorial Trust carries out social welfare works and has been serving the people for the last more than twenty years, the people present at the Urs told Kashmir Reader.
“The Late Bukhari has inspired us,” they said.
Darul-ul-Uloom Rehmat-e-Alam chairman Syed Mushtaq Ahmad Bukhari said the Urs is observed every year on August 12, and many Islamic issues are discussed by scholars during the event.
The Urs concluded with the prayers for the Muslim Ummah.
