Youth injured during clashes in Pulwama village after CASO

Srinagar: A youth was injured in forces action who launched cordon and search operation (CASO) in Kissrigam village of Kakapora area in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday.

Forces launched CASO in Kissrigam after input about the presence of militants, official sources said.

Witnesses and locals said they heard several gunshots in the village when forces were laying siege.

They said that soon after forces started searches scores of youth pelted rocks on them.

They added that a youth sustained injuries during clashes and was rushed to hospital.

They identifed the injured as 21 years old Saleem Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh, a resident of Qazigund village in Kakapora area.

Hospital sources told Kashmir Reader that Saleem was hit by Pellets in his foot. He was being treated at Bone and Joint Hospital, Srinagar.
