Shutdown continues in Langate town against militant’s killing

Baramulla: A complete shutdown was observed for second consecutive day on Sunday in Langate town of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district against the killing of a local militant by army along with four other militants at Vigi Top hills in Rafiabad, Sopore in this north Kashmir district a few days ago.
The family of the slain is demanding the body saying they identified their son in a photograph which went viral on social media.
On Thursday, army had claimed of killing five heavily-armed militants in a gunfight at Vigi Top hills in a two-day-long gunfight. However, a family of Langate town claimed that one of slain is their son Muzafar Ahmad Mir who went missing on August 6.
Police have already collected blood samples of family members for DNA test.
A close relative of deceased said police told them that they are waiting for the DNA report after which further steps will be taken.
