Govt forces fire warning shots in south Kashmir’s Pulwama

Pulwama: Panic gripped several areas of this south Kashmir township on Monday night when government forces fired several shots in air after observing ‘suspicious movement’.

A senior police officer told Kashmir Reader that the security men observed suspicious movement near the camp housing CRPF troopers and the personnel of special operations group (SOG) of police in the main town here.

The security men, he said, fired a few shots in air after observing the suspicious movement.

Meanwhile, the locals said that the firing created panic in different areas of the town with people presuming it to be a militant attack.
