Baramulla: A complete shutdown is being observed for third straight day today in Langate town in neighbouring Kupwara district to demand body of a militant, who was killed with four others by army in an encounter last week.

Shops and business establishments remained closed for the third consecutive day today against the killing of five militants, including a local, witnesses told Kashmir Reader. The shutdown also hit traffic movement in the area.

On Thursday last, army had claimed of killing five heavily-armed militants in a gunfight at Vigi Top hills in a two-day-long gunfight. However, a family of Langate town claimed that one of slain is their son Muzafar Ahmad Mir who went missing on August 6.

Police have already collected blood samples of family members for DNA test.
