All shops, commercial establishments remained closed in Langate market for the second straight day in protest against the local militant’s killing and to support the demand of the family that the body of their son be handed over to them, witnesses told Kashmir Reader. The shutdown also affected the movement of transport in the frontier area.

On Thursday, army had claimed to have killed five foreign militants in a gun-battle in Viji Top area. However, a family from Langate has claimed one of the militants as their son Muzafar Ahmad Mir.
