Srinagar: All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) headed by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Thursday paid rich tributes to former executive member and senior Hurriyat leader Sheikh Abdul Aziz on his death anniversary.
Paying tributes to the slain, a spokesperson of APHC in a statement said, “Aziz stood like a rock on his convictions and all his life fought for the people’s movement for right to self-determination.”
“The slain leader will always be remembered for his contribution towards the ongoing freedom struggle,” he added.
Hurriyat said that under the banner of APHC, Aziz worked tirelessly shoulder to shoulder with other resistance leaders. “The mission of martyr Sheikh Aziz and all other martyrs of Kashmir will never be compromised upon,” Hurriyat said.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat also paid rich tributes to the five militants killed in an encounter at north Kashmir’s Rafiabad area of Baramulla district, and stated that “the nation is indebted to the youth for offering the great sacrifice and they will always be remembered”.
However, Hurriyat in a statement said that they strongly condemned the nocturnal raids and arrests of militates families in various areas of Tral in Pulwama district that include Pinglish, Gulshan Pora, Ameerabad, Mongehama, Jawaharpora, Laam, Sheerabad, and many other villages, terming the move as “revengeful and ultimate high handedness exhibited by forces”.
