Muslim League condemns ‘harassment’ of political prisoners

Srinagar: Muslim League Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday condemned the harassment of political Kashmiri prisoners languishing in different jails of the country.
League spokesman Sajad Ayobi in a statement said that from Tihar to Baramulla Jail, authorities have “unleashed a reign of terror”.
He said, “Plight of Kashmiri detainees is deeply disturbing and condemnable act.”
“Inmates are deprived of human contact,” Ayobi said, and added that League expressed anguish and concern over “prejudiced attitude” of jail authorities towards inmates, political prisoners, terming it “violation of human rights.”
Ayobi claimed that political prisoners are being ill-treated and harassed and even deprived of medical facilities.
Ayobi paid rich tributes to the courage and steadfastness shown by the hundreds of Kashmiri prisoners lodged in various jails.
He said that the sacrifices rendered by Masrat Alam Bhat, Dr. Muhammad Qasim, Mushtaqul islam, Dr. Shafi Shariati, Shabir Ahmad Shah,Ghulam Qadir Bhat, Mohammad Yusuf Mir, Asiya Andrabi, Ghulam Mohammad Khan Sopori, Nahida Nasreen, Fahmeeda Sofi, Assudullah Parrray, Mohammad Hayat Bhat, Hakeem Showket, Mehrajiddin Nanda, Molvi Sajad, Fayaz Ahmad Talat,
Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Raja Meraj-u-Din Kalwal, Ayaz Akbar, Mohammad Yousuf Falayee, Salman Yousuf, Ashiq Hussain Mir, Basharat Ahmad, Mufti Nazir, Molana Sarjan Barkati, Shakeel Ahmad, Umar Aadil, Bashir Qureshi, are praiseworthy.
He hailing the sacrifices and the services of political prisoners said that nation prays for their well-being and prosperity and we salute them for their steadfastness. League Spokesman Sajad Ayobi said that We are proud of these warriors for their commitment and dedication. He said that Prisoners detained in Several jails are living legends and icons for resistance movement.
