Bandipora: Family welfare employees of health department on Wednesday protested at mini secretariat Bandipora demanding release of their salaries.
The female family welfare employees of the department who hold an “important role ” in strengthening the health department at grassroots levels are now in “dire straits” as their children are being expelled from the schools for not paying school dues.
The protesting employees who sum up around hundred in number in the District said that no one among them from all the divisions of Gurez, Hajin, Bandipora and Sumbal was paid the salary from six months.
The protesting employees said that “despite being the important elements in the health department and strengthening healthcare at grass root level we are facing immense hardships due to the cold-hearted approach of the department towards us. Such treatment has forced us towards starvation and the schools have denied education to our children due to pending fees”.
The Family welfare employees who work under the centrally sponsored scheme said that they have to often face inconsistency in receiving their monthly salaries and appealed Governor to take up the issue with the centre so that their issues are resolved.
It is pertinent to mention, the family welfare employees are protesting across valley from many days demanding release of pending salaries.
