Shopian: A complete shutdown was observed for the fourth consecutive day in this south Kashmir township against the killing of five militants, and a civilian by government forces on Friday.
Shops, business establishments, schools and colleges, and petrol pumps remained closed for the fourth straight day in Shopian town and some other parts of the district against, witnesses told Kashmir Reader. Public transport is also off the roads in this south Kashmir district, where a civilian was allegedly shot dead by government forces during a protest.
The town has so far shut down for more than 60 days against the killing of 24 civilians and 28 militants this year in different forces operations across the district.
