SRINAGAR: As first week of August is celebrated as ‘World Breastfeeding Week’, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora organised an awareness programme about breast feeding.
is trying its level best to reach to the different sections of the society through education, research and various outreach programmes. As first week of August is celebrated as World Breastfeeding Week and this year with the theme Breastfeeding – Foundations of life , Syed Mantaqi Memorial College of Nursing & Medical Technology (SMMCN&MT) IUST, conducted awareness programme at Maternity Hospital, SKIMS Soura on 4th August 2018 to create awareness about breastfeeding among antenatal and postnatal mothers. The participants were provided awareness regarding exclusive breastfeeding, physiology and advantages of breastfeeding to mother, baby, family and society. The programme was followed by interactive session with mothers and live demonstrations.
Various events were also organised by Alamdar Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Technology(AMCN&MT) Chrari-i-Sharief on the eve of International Breastfeeding Week 2018 in different areas falling under Sub-District Hospital Chrar-i-Sharief, Budgam. The events included – One to one patient sessions regarding various aspects of breastfeeding among post-natal mothers, Health education sessions in Ante-natal clinic and one education session for ASHA workers as well.
Theprogrammes were conducted under the guidance of Ms. AsmatParveen I/C Principal, SMMCN&MT and Mrs. HassinaWani I/C Principal AMCN&MT (Constituent Nursing Colleges of IUST).
