Census 2021 preparations initiated: Minister

The office of Registrar General and Census Commissioner, India in the Ministry of Home Affairs has initiated preparatory work for conducting the population census 2021, Minister of State for Home Affairs, Hansraj Gangaram Ahir said in a reply to a question in the Lok Sabha Tuesday.
He said that meetings with stakeholders including ministries, departments, state governments and data users were underway. Based on inputs from all the stakeholders, the questionnaire for census will be decided and pilot testing done, it said.
In census, data are collected on all persons who are present in the country during the period of enumeration.
