56588 children to be given deworming tablets free of cost in Pattan

Baramulla: In view of National Deworming day being observed on 10th August, a meeting of block coordination committee Pattan was held at Trauma Hospital, chaired by BMO Dr Masarat Iqbal Wani on Tuesday.
Wani briefed the participants about the action plan scheduled for deworming campaign. He said that about 56588 children in the age group of 01 to 19 years, enrolled in various schools and Anganwari centers will be given deworming tablets free of cost in the district.
Wani while highlighting the significance of the programme, stressed for better coordination for the overall success of the campaign. He stressed upon educating people at grass root levels and said that other vulnerable sections should be included in the programme. Moreover, he urged for working with more synergy and cooperation so that the objective of universal health care is achieved in letter and spirit.
He appealed the people to bring their children to nearest health and Anganwari centers and educational institutions to make the programme a success.
