Shopian: Government forces allegedly uses teargas and warning shots while arresting a man in a nocturnal raid in Meminder area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district, causing injuries to one woman, the family of the man said Monday.
Shakeel Ahmad Thoker, an activist of Muslim Deeni Mahaz was arrested from his house in Memendhar during a night raid by the government forces, they said.
The family alleged that the government forces lobbed tear smoke shells and fired several shots in air when the arrest was resisted by them. In the forces action, they said, Thoker’s sister sustained injuries. Thoker is the district president Muslim Deeni Mahaz, they said.
