Srinagar records 44 MM rain: Sonum Lotus

Srinagar: After a hot, humid and dry weather for over a week, today, most parts of Jammu & Kashmir region lashed with Monsoon shower since early morning, this was stated by MeT regional Director, Sonum Lotus.

As expected &, there is significant decrease in rainfall now and more improvement is expected as the day progresses, he said and added “Please, a 2-3hrs of rain after a week of dry weather won’t led to flood. So please go out and enjoy this Monsoon rain over a cup of Tea & discuss something good,” Lotus wrote in his facebook post.

He predicted water logging in low lying areas and Landslide/flash flood in hilly Areas.

He said that Srinagar recorded 44 MM, Qazigund 60 MM, Phalgam 13 MM, Kokernag 5 MM, Jammu 39 MM, Banihal 20 MM, Batote 61 MM, Katra 52 MM, Badarwah 35 MM, Kargil 0 MM and Udampur received 52 MM rain.
