Kangan Civil Society holds election to fill executive body seats

Sheikh Anees Kangan: An election was held on Sunday by Civil Society Kangan to fill seven seats in the executive body.
The election was conducted at Kangan in presence of the members from Civil Society Ganderbal including Dr Rafiq Lone and Mudasir Hamid. Civil Society Kangan is the sub wing of Civil Society Ganderbal and was formed in the month of March 2018 with a temporary body.
The successful candidates who won the seven seats included – Ali Mohammad Wani as chairman, Firdous Ahmad Rather as vice chairman, Mohammad Ashraf as general secretary, Mohammad Yusuf Paswal as secretary, Bashir Ah Mir as joint secretary, Manzoor ul Islam as organiser and Aijaz Ahmad Bhat as treasurer.
Civil society Kangan also adopted constitution which was drafted by its constituent member Advocate Abid Jeelani.
The speakers stressed for a need to have consistency in working for the development of sub division Kangan, and suggested ideas for making Civil Society a vibrant developmental organisation.
