Hajin: A complete shutdown was observed in Hajin town of Bandipora district on Sunday to mark the first death anniversary of a local militant.
Abid Hameed Mir, affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba, was killed in an encounter at Sapore on this day last year along with two associates.
Abid had been active for three months before getting killed.
Traffic was off the road, and businesses were shut in Hajin to commemorate the aniversary.
Banners and posters in the town remembered Abid with slogans like “Abid tere khoon se inqilab ayega”.
