SRINAGAR: A five-day ‘Agri-Financing’ training programme concluded at Staff Training College, J&K Grameen Bank on Friday. It was the first-ever residential training programme conducted by College of Agriculture Banking (CAB), Reserve Bank of India, Pune in the bank. J&K Grameen Bank is the only bank amongst RRBs (Regional Rural Banks) in the north zone where the customised on-site training was provided. About 30 officers of the bank from all across the state attended the said programme.
During the valedictory ceremony, Chairman J&K Grameen Bank, Janak Raj Angural expressed his gratitude towards the faculty of CAB, RBI for choosing JKGB for the on-site training programme in the north zone. He also felicitated all the officers who attended the training programme and certificates were also handed over to them. He expected better results in agricultural financing in the near future, an official handout read.
General Manager J&K Grameen Bank, Romesh Vaid on the occasion appreciated the initiative of CAB of organising on-site training imparting training to a vast number of officers of the bank, read the handout.
DGM, CAB RBI, Pune, Pankaj Setiya emphasised the importance of such training programmes in assessing the skills and aptitude of the officers.
AGM, CAB, RBI, E R Muthuselvan said “such training programmes enrich the participants with the knowledge of techno-economic and financial appraisals skills of projects in farm and non-farm sector” and also impart knowledge regarding regulatory, legal and market risk related to such financing, the handout added.
