Srinagar: Police on Saturday claimed they arrested two Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of militants in Panthachowk area of city outskirts and recovered two grenades from them.

Police sources told Kashmir Reader that arrests were made during a raid conducted by a joint team of Army, CRPF and SOG.

They said 2 hand grenades were recovered from their possession.

However, sources told Kashmir Reader that Asif Mushtaq Baba and Adil Mushtaq Baba, residents of Abidabad, Panthachowk were arrested in a nocturnal raid.

Family sources of Asif and Adil strongly contested police claims and said that both are “innocent” and have nothing to do with militancy. They alleged that forces raided their house and thrashed all the family members.

Family sources further added that Asif is a Law Student.
