Srinagar: Thousands of people on Saturday flocked Malikgund and Losedenow villages in southern Kashmir’s Shopian district to offer funeral prayers of the three slain militants who were killed during a gun battle with government forces in Killora village of the district along with three associates.

The three include Umar Malik, an LeT district commander and a resident of Malikgund; Waqar Ahmad, an Al-Badar militant and a resident of Malikgund and Aijaz Ahmad, also an Al-Badar militant and a resident of Losedenow.

Local sources said that multiple rounds of funeral prayers were offered to the slain amid massive anti-India and Pro-Pakistan sloganeering.

Earlier, five militants were killed by government forces including Indian army, Paramilitary CRPF and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police in an encounter in Killora village of the district.
