Thousands attend Pulwama militant’s funeral prayers

Srinagar: Thousands people Saturday participated in the funeral prayers of slain Pulwama militant, Khursheed Ahmad Malik at Nikas village.

Khursheed, a B-Tech student was killed alongwith his associate in a gunfight with government forces in Sopore area on Friday.

One army man also was killed during the gunfight.

Khursheed, a resident of Arabal Nikas Pulwama, had joined militancy ranks few days before.

Since Friday evening thousands of mourners from different villages around started reaching the native village of Khursheed to participate in his last rites, locals told Kashmir Reader.

After three rounds of funeral prayers, Khursheed was laid to rest at around 11am in his ancestral graveyard, witnesses said.
