Teenager hit by bullet in abdomen as forces fire on protestors

Kupwara: A teenager was critically injured on Friday when government forces opened fire to disperse a group of youths who were protesting against the killing of two local militants in a gunfight in Lolab valley of Kupwara on Thursday, witnesses told Kashmir Reader.
16-year-old Danish Ahmad Lone, son of Mohammad Rabani, was critically injured when government forces opened fire at a group of protesting youth in Kalaroos area of Kupwara district this afternoon, people who witnessed the incident said.
Lone, who received a bullet in his abdomen, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Doctors there referred him to a Srinagar hospital for specialised treatment.
Witnesses told Kashmir Reader that some youth were protesting against the killing of local militants Bilal Ahmad Shah and Zahoor Ahmad when government forces fired upon them.
A senior medical officer in the district confirmed that a youth with bullet injury was admitted to a Kupwara hospital from where he was shifted to Srinagar for advanced treatment.
