Massive throng at Pahalgam village for funeral prayers of slain militant

Srinagar: Thousands of people on Saturday thronged Yenned village of Pahalgam to participate in the funeral prayers of a slain militant Arif Ahmad Mir. Mir was killed in an encounter with government forces in Killora village of Shopian district along with four other associates.

Local sources, however, said that the body of Arif is yet to reach Yenned, his ancestral village.

Earlier, the funeral processions of the three militants also killed in Killora encounter witnessed massive throng of people in Malikgund and Losedenow villages of Shopian district. The three include Umar Malik, a LeT district commander and a resident of Malikgund; Waqar Ahmad, an Al-Badar militant and a resident of Malikgund and Aijaz Ahmad, also an Al-Badar militant and a resident of Losedenow.
