Kupwara shuts for second consecutive day to mourn militant killings

Srinagar: A complete shutdown continued in north Kashmir’s Kupwara on second consecutive day Saturday to mourn the killings of two local militants.

Militants Zahoor Ahmad Mir of Thayan Kalaroos and Bilal Ahmad Shah of Shotmuqam village of Kupwara were killed during an encounter with government forces in Kandhar village of Kupwara on Thursday.

Local sources said that all shops and business establishments are closed while as people in large numbers are visiting the slain militant’s homes to express solidarity with the affected families.
